As a requisite for maintaining their license to practice in the state of Oklahoma under their respective titles, PT and PTA, each must complete education as approved by the Oklahoma State Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision.

Every licensee must complete either 40 hours as a PT or 30 hours as a PTA due every 2 years (even years), which is known as a compliance period. Each must complete 3 contact hours in ethics during this compliance period as well.
