Purpose

Founded in 1946 as a chapter of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), the Oklahoma Physical Therapy Association (OPTA) operates to represent, promote, and protect the profession of physical therapy in Oklahoma including practice, education, and research. Additionally, the OPTA strives to meet and support the needs and interests of its members who are licensed Physical Therapists, licensed Physical Therapist Assistants, physical therapy students, and physical therapist assistant students in order for them to meet the physical therapy needs of the people of Oklahoma. The OPTA is the driving force for advancing and promoting the practice of physical therapy.

 

OPTA provides its members the following benefits:

 

  • Advocate in Washington D.C. and Oklahoma City for the profession of physical therapy;
  • Champion for proper payment of physical therapy services; Promote the benefits of physical therapy to consumers and health-care professionals;
